This record is not unlike some of Ra’s previous endeavors but at the same time a lyrical sculpture of a version or verbal gymnastics spine tingling metaphors that he has yet to unleash until now. Afu-Ra quotes “I want to unveil a single to and for my hardcore Hip Hop supporters that will give us all hope that the art of a battle rap mc is not dead but a technique of the future”.

Many might and will be true with their statements that this title was used before on so and so’s record however the impact of this record will be quite different.

This record is yet another staple of the brute force dexterity that Afu-Ra possess’s as he prove. This song crafting skills and MC abilities as he fires off a heat seeking missile of a track as the first single of his fifth solo album.

 

“Body of the Lifeforce”, “Lifeforce Radio”, “State of the Arts” and “Body of Lifeforce part 2” were classic bodies of work in their own write as well-being being critically acclaimed by many.

Traveling the world, pushing the message of self-inspiration and spiritual guidance  ́Ra always feels like he has something left to do that has never done before.

“Wake these heads up that are awoke but sleeping”.

Traveling through the barrage of internet confusion and mediocre talents, PHILTY PRO handed  ́Ra this gym of an instrumental and the two of them went to work immediately.

With the album and artist creating such a buzz straight off the bat, the success of this fresh, new hip hop emcees  in 2000, the artist and music, had strong impact of the hip hop community in USA and internationally. In this post he paid his respects to his long-time partner in the game, GURU  who was such a pillar of the hip hop industry for many decades, legendary hip hop artist loved by so many across the globe. Primo expressed the greatness of the loss of GURU who he described as having a huge contribution and influence on the music for so many decades, unrivalled skills. This are talents and appreciation shared throughout the scene globally, an icon and legacy that would never die and would remain a part of the foundations of hip hop culture. In the wake of the highly anticipated full-album release, Afu-Ra is now gearing up with new business associate and agent, Kaz Turbill (Ace High Entertainment Co) for an international tour, music and media releases. The Mazter Chef Album Promo Tour 2016 will kick off in the UK in October, followed by Australia and New Zealand from the 10^th November and concluding with some shows in Asia in December where he will be making debut performances for long awaiting fans. This will wind up a very busy year for the New York born rapper as 2016 marks a new chapter in the career of hip hop emcee Afu-Ra and marks the beginning of many great things to come from the Brooklyn-born artist.

The 2014 National “Search 4 Pearls” Music Competition: Final Heats & Industry Party

AND THE WINNER IS….

From near to 900 songs that were entered in the national “Search 4 Pearls” music competition, a shortlist of twenty singers, bands and groups were selected. These contestants represented all genres across seven broad categories and a variety of ages, sounds and styles. They faced each other the Semi-Final Heats of the 2014 “Search 4 Pearls” competition on the Queen’s Birthday Monday at the Sandbelt Hotel, Moorabbin, on June 9 with a wildcard round kicking things off. Of this round three lucky wildcard contestants were selected by our panel of top industry judges to re-enter the competition and battle shortlisted contestants in their selected categories, in the live performance rounds that followed.

From the Semi-Final Round, a panel of five judges selected individual category winners. The Under 18’s was taken out by 16 year old Charlotte, and Solo Male, by acoustic artistst, Troy White. Solo Female went to the amazing talents of Ali Hughes, while Busy Kingdom took out the 1^st of our bands heat and Slightly Left of Centre, the 2^nd. First place in Hip hop was awarded to local MC, ALL 26, and the Classical & World finalist was Los Cougarmen. This group of highly skilled and diverse performers all won 1^st place in their heats of the “Search 4 Pearls” competition semi-finals. An amazing array of talents that were then showcased in the major round battle the following night.

These performances in the MAJOR FINAL ROUND the following evening on June 10^th were nothing short of spectacular! The final result was unbelievably close and out of a possible 250 points, the top three contestants all finished just one point apart. A truly amazing end to the first run of this national music competition.

 

Los Cougarmen(World/Classical category) & Busy Kingdom(Band A category winner)tied for 2nd place with a total of 163 points, while Slightly Left of Centre(Band B)took the lead in 1st place, finishing just one point ahead with 164 points!

 

The finale and industry party was a fantastic night of live music, exciting competition, food, fun & entertainment. With a live fashion show and twelve model catwalk, two live music performance rounds, judges, sponsors friends and industry faces all joining organisers to support the first ever “Search 4 Pearls” competition, the major round event and amazing finalists who came along way through the competition, to finish as major & semi-finalists, shortlisted and wildcard contestants.

 

Across the three rounds of the competition were judging panels consisting of the likes of Tim J Fry, from Steel Guitar Australia. Tim is also the Victorian representative of the Australian Independent Music Association teaming up with Australian Singer/ Songwriter of the Year Award winners Jacques Gentil (2013) and Karen Guymer (2010), Mike Puskas who’s thirty year career spans across many including Ikonic Management and Dead Famous Records (Aus & USA).  They were accompanied by two amazing, world-class artists, singer & pianist, Dominic Ross and singer / songwriter, Lucy Gale. Along withAustralian writer and director Frank Howson, renowned Music Producer credited with over 25 UK #1 hits, Julian Mendelsohn. These topindustry professionals volunteered themselves to the competition’s panel to judge the 2014 “Search 4 Pearls” national music contest.

 

With supporters donating amazing instruments, equipment, vouchers and accessories, to these top talents, the best of this year’s “Search 4 Pearls” debut will be rewarded with prizes as place holders for the semi-final round. This amazing prize pool includes 3 guitars, 2 keyboards, amplifiers, production and recording equipment thanks to the generous donations from Manny’s Music Store, SMPro, Pat’s Music, Studio Connections, Crystal Mastering and many more.

 With only 1 point between the top 3 contestants, two amazing groups tied for 2nd place with the 1^st place winner, “2014’s Pearl” & the $10,000+ major prize of recording sessions, production, mastering & two months promotion, claiming this title by only one point.

 

Taking out the competition as “2014’s Pearl” & overall major prize winner was local band, Slightly Left of Centre.

In a night of fun filled entertainment, these top contestants went head to head in a final battle round to in front of a list of industry guests, musicians, entertainers, and models who hit the Black Pearl Runway for an event that was be nothing short of spectacular!
